Bioinformatics prep for TJ students

Bioinformatics asks students to think like a biologist and a programmer at the same time. This course will practice both sides and how they fit together.

Who it is for

TJ students taking Bioinformatics.

Usually taken in 11th or 12th grade.

What the course will include

  • Lessons on topics such as sequence alignment, genomic databases, and analyzing biological data with code.
  • Original practice problems and short computational exercises built on real kinds of biological data.
  • Complete worked solutions that explain both the biology and the method.

It is built the same way as our AP Precalculus course, which is open now: every problem is original, and every solution shows each step. Tuition will be announced when the course opens.
