Organic and Analytical Chemistry prep for TJ students
Organic chemistry can feel like memorizing reactions, but it rewards students who understand why electrons move. This course will build that understanding so new reactions make sense.
Who it is for
TJ students taking Organic and Analytical Chemistry after AP Chemistry.
Usually taken in 11th or 12th grade.
What the course will include
- Lessons on topics such as structure and naming, stereochemistry, reaction mechanisms, and common reaction types.
- Lessons on analytical methods such as spectroscopy and chromatography, and how to read their results.
- Original practice problems, including mechanisms, syntheses, and identifying unknowns from data.
- Complete worked solutions that show each step of the reasoning.
It is built the same way as our AP Precalculus course, which is open now: every problem is original, and every solution shows each step. Tuition will be announced when the course opens.
