Good to know
- SAT late deadline
- Also the last day for test date changes and regular cancellation. Late registration is available worldwide for an extra fee.
- Borrowing a device
- College Board asks students who need to borrow a device to register at least 30 days before test day.
- ACT standby
- After the late deadline, you can request standby testing in MyACT. Seats are not guaranteed.
- ACT coverage
- National test dates are for the United States, U.S. territories and Puerto Rico. ACT adds July testing in New York starting in 2027.
- School day tests
- SAT School Day and the PSAT are scheduled by schools, not by students, so they are not listed here.

Common Questions
What time do registration deadlines close?
SAT deadlines expire at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. ACT deadlines are at 11:59 p.m. Central Time, which is 12:59 a.m. Eastern the next morning.
What happens if I miss the regular deadline?
Both tests allow late registration until the late deadline, for an extra fee. For the SAT, the late deadline is also the last day for changes and regular cancellation. After the ACT late deadline, ACT offers standby testing through MyACT, with no guaranteed seat.
Are these dates for students outside the U.S.?
College Board says its SAT Weekend dates apply to all students, in the U.S. and internationally. ACT’s national test dates cover the United States, U.S. territories and Puerto Rico; international ACT dates are listed separately by ACT.
Is July ACT testing available in New York?
ACT says July testing will be available for students in New York starting in 2027.
